Description

Savor the sweet and savory taste of pure, raw Florida with our floral variety of Mangrove Honey. These native mangrove trees tend to produce a rich, thick, darker shade of honey that is clear light amber in color and has a distinctive flavor beloved in Florida as a local delicacy. Its buttery smooth texture and mild flavor is perfect for sharp cheddars, seedy bread, hot toddies, and challah bread.

Not only do these protected coastal tree’s flowers produce delicious honey, but the trees are a critical part of this unique ecosystem. They provide shelter for sea life and birds, their roots act as an essential fish nursery habitat, and they prevent erosion. Mangrove trees are one of the few saltwater plants bees forage nectar from! The Black Mangrove and its white blossoms thrive in Florida’s warm coastal areas. It’s rooted in saltwater areas with a salinity that would kill most regular plants. This is a special ocean honey from a dwindling habitat. In the face of the urban expansion affecting mangrove trees, we’re committed to both our bees and the environment, ensuring the health of these invaluable coastal habitats.

You’re in for a light and refreshing taste adventure unearthed from our dense coastal mangrove forests! Our tropical mangrove honey is a special gift coming from local bees in a small apiary in Arcadia, Florida. Before our honey is hand harvested, Negley’s hard working bees spend 10-20 days traveling all over south Florida way down the Florida Keys, taking over 22,7000 trips to visit over two million flowers to create a single 1-pound jar of their honey using mangrove flower nectar. Did you know each bee makes 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime? There are 6 teaspoons in one ounce, it will take 72 bees to produce one ounce of honey and 576 bees to fill an 8-ounce jar of honey over 6 weeks!

Our premium mangrove honey is pure, unheated, and unfiltered, so it retains all its nutrients and enzymes for a truly authentic honey experience in its most natural form. Studies have shown that honey is beneficial for respiratory issues, blood pressure, and rheumatism. It also contains ample amounts of vitamin C, which aids in immune function and wound healing. It is high in antioxidants like flavonoids and polyphenols, which makes it beneficial for your health. In addition, it’s antibacterial and antiviral, making it a great natural remedy for infections. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, mangrove honey can alleviate inflammation, which is linked to varieties of health issues, including chronic pain and heart disease. Additionally, it is said to have aphrodisiac properties for both men and women! Whether you’re using our mangrove honey for tea, drizzling it on your favorite foods, or simply enjoying it by the spoonful, the rich flavor and aroma make it a perfect addition to any kitchen. Due to its marine environment and depending on when in summer it’s harvested, it can have a slightly salty caramel initial flavor with a uniquely butterscotch like finish that pairs well with fruit and cheese, seafood dishes and cocktails, and puts a new twist with this natural sweetener in your regular coffee, tea, or smoothies.

Raw honey can naturally crystallize. Just gently warm it to dissolve or enjoy as is.

Ensure the jar is tightly sealed to prevent moisture and contaminants from entering after each use.

Mangrove honey is best stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.

Refrigeration can cause honey to crystallize, altering its texture and taste. It’s unnecessary for preserving the honey’s freshness.
